Bombardier Transportation has handed over the first two of twenty dual-system FLEXITY trams to Albtal-Verkehrs-Gesellschaft (AVG). AVG will receive the remaining 18 trams over the coming months – all by mid-2021. Bombardier is manufacturing the 20 trams for Karlsruhe at its Competence Center for Light Rail Vehicles in Vienna.

That’s what Bombardier trams are made of. With more than 5,000 on order or in service worldwide, our extensive experience in active and passive safety technology is mirrored in the FLEXITY tram design. In the early morning hours of Friday, 13 December 2019, the first out of 40 new Bombardier Flexity low-floor trams arrived in Göteborg. The so-called M33 tram started its journey in Bautzen, Germany, at the plant where the series is built.

Equipped with innovative bogies, they will move more quietly and more efficiently and are therefore an important step in achieving Berlin’s climate protection goals.” Public rail transportation has a major role in solving today’s mobility problems in cities around the world – even in smaller towns like Blackpool in the UK. By delivering 16 trams, Bombardier Transportation is contributing to the revitalization of Britain’s most traditional tram system and helping to continuously enhance the city’s attractiveness. Bombardier Transportation will deliver 30 Flexity trams to Dresden’s transport authority Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe (DVB). The light rail vehicles will be equipped with the Obstacle Detection and Assistance System (ODAS), the company’s innovative solution to prevent collisions.
